Two home games on the trot referees have made big, big mistakes. 3 handball decisions (4 if you include the penalty Fulham could justly claim) in the last game, and the not foul outside the box and illegal run up.
These would be crucial at any point in the season but now, millions, tens of millions of pounds rest on them and the referees have proved they’re not up to the job.
Of all of them there can be no excuse for the penalty run up. No players in the way, no looking in the wrong direction no it happened too quickly. The referee stood and watched from under ten yards away; looked directly at the ball and the player and decided he’d allow that run up when the rules say it was illegal. There’s no excuse. That’s a banishment to pub football for Langford, surely.
